By now you’ve probably heard that Microsoft is ending support of all Windows handhelds between January 2020 and April 2021. This doesn’t mean it’s time to panic, but it’s definitely time to assess the impact on your operations and determine the next steps for ensuring your mobile future.
You aren’t alone. Millions of Windows handheld mobile devices will be affected by Microsoft’s end of support. If you have an extended support plan, some manufacturers may be able to provide support beyond 2021. There may also be steps you can take today to keep your devices running longer while planning for a migration in the future.
But ultimately, everyone will need to upgrade their mobile operating system. A good plan should include a careful analysis of which OS is right for you in the future. Many in the enterprise mobile industry are now shifting to Android instead of Windows and manufacturers are starting to push Android over the Windows CE devices.
WiSys Agility Mobile Now Supports Android
We are excited to announce that WiSys now supports Android with our Android RDP solution. We have had a lot of requests for an Android solution and are excited to have something available for people looking for an alternative to Windows handheld devices.
We are also in development of an Android native app that will provide signature capture and camera integration among other features. The Android native application is scheduled to come out later this year.
